Academy Program‎ > ‎

Overview

The Kingwood Alliance Soccer Club Academy Program is a special program for U8-U10 boys and girls.

The Academy Program has been designed to create a love for the game of soccer in the early stages of development, but introduces players to a more competitive environment prior to joining the Competitive Program. The emphasis will be on developing basic ball skills, utilizing soccer instincts, and emphasizing creativity through technical training and a more competitive game environment.

The Academy coaching staff is specially selected and trained to provide this introduction to competitive soccer in an environment conducive to player development, and fun!

An important aspect of the Academy Program.

  • Training sessions conducted by the professional staff are the key ingredient in the development of the players. The training sessions are devised to help each player improve technically (skills), tactically (decision-making), physically (fitness) and psychologically (mental toughness).

Training Sessions

Training sessions are held twice per week.  All training sessions will be held with an Alliance Professional trainer that will follow a weekly curriculum that has been approved by the Alliance Director of Training and the State Youth Coaching staff.  Overview of the Academy will also be reviewed by the Alliance Competitive Committee. All Academy Training will be at the NorthPark Fields.

Match Play

All players will be pooled by age group. Games will be played on the weekends at designated locations throughout Houston against other like-kind players. Each week the training staff will form teams for that weekend of games. All players will participate. These teams will be based on individual abilities while also giving a chance for all players to be put in a position to be successful in their development.
