Kingwood Alliance was represented very well by our U-9 & U-10 age group champions at the TYSA Fall Championships held December 4th & 5th. The TYSA championship brings together the fall champions from the member clubs to play against each other to determine an overall age group champion.

Our club sent our champions from the U-9 girl’s, coached by Jeff Bates, U-9 boys, coached by Keith Lattimer, U-10 girls, coached by Jason Kolodziejski, and U-10 boys, coached by Wayne Tucker. Our champs did very well and made the club proud!

U-9 girl’s tied their first game against a much larger opponent, 3-3, then won their next game on a late goal, 1-0, before finally got knocked out in their final game, finishing 3rd in the age group.

U-9 boy’s played tough as well, tying their first game, 3-3, and then tying their second game, 2-2, before also losing in their final game 5-1 against the eventual champion.

U-10 girl’s played a round robin with advancement based on points; they won their first game, 1-0, but lost their next two by close margins. They were able to advance into the semi-finals, due to a tie for second in their bracket with the team they beat, thus they advanced. In the semi’s they upset one of the teams that had beaten them earlier to advance into the championship. The championship game ended in a tie, 1-1, so the championship was decided by penalty kicks, which the girl’s ended up losing. Excellent fight and perseverance by the girls to get so close to winning, but we think 2nd is still pretty awesome!

Saving the best for last, the U-10 boys, team Tucker (shown in picture)! They won their bracket on Saturday, and then defeated Klein SC, 4-2 in the semi-finals to advance to the championship to face our friends, Aldine United. They were able to take a 3-2 victory and the championship home with them. Congrats to coaches, Wayne Tucker, Shawn Tucker and Chris Sasso. Great job!

Thanks to the parents for letting their kids represent KASC on this extra weekend. Thanks to the coaches and the players for playing so hard, we are very proud of them for

competing for us!
